In what used to be an annual affair, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Plains (BBBS) held their first Bowl for Kids event since COVID-19.

Executive Director Dawn Froese explains that the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory-themed bowling fundraiser occurred last Sunday, March 12th, at Southport Bowl.

"Those that came out had a wonderful time, and we managed to raise $3420 that would go towards mentoring."

Froese notes, that while numbers were down from the last time, they held a Bowl for Kids event, BBBS is still very grateful for the community.

"I can never complain about Portage not supporting us."
