Annual Duck Race for MacGregor Fire Department is on - Saturday
The MacGregor Fire Department is on and once again being supported by their annual Duck Race. Fire Chief Chris Leckie says it's their third edition put on by the MacGregor Hotel. "Actually, they're the big ones that started all this with us," says Leckie. "What we'll do is release ducks down the creek. And the first one that makes it through is the winner of the race. All the prices and all the proceeds go to the MacGregor Fire Department from this event. You can get three ducks for $20 or one for $10." He notes they're available at the MacGregor Hotel where you can call and your name will be placed on a duck. It takes place this weekend. "Saturday at 2:00 in the afternoon is our plan at the ditch there by the MacGregor Hotel. Ducks are going pretty fast, so this will be the last few days to get in on the action. If anybody's interested, just contact Nelson and Jill at the MacGregor Hotel and they'll set you up." Leckie says they usually get about $1,000 for the fire department to increase their capabilities for extra by purchasing for the fire department. He thanks the MacGregor Hotel for their support over the past few years, who've been incredible and a huge supporter of the fire department.
