Stride Credit Union donates $20,000 to STARS

Stride Credit Union's STARS Fundraiser at the Neepawa Golf & Country Club raised $20,000 last Thursday. In 2021-22, STARS flew 773 missions, 26 of which were in the Neepawa area and 61 in the Portage region. "I am honoured to present $20,000 to STARS through this fundraiser. At the heart of our decision lies a profound belief in the power of community, compassion, and collective action. We recognize the vital role STARS plays in saving lives and providing critical care in our communities," says CEO of Stride Credit Union, Brent Budz. The tournament had 92 golfers hit the links at noon, with a dinner following at 5:30 p.m. Colleen Mayer, Director of Fundraising for STARS in Manitoba, adds that this support will go a long way. "STARS was built by the community, for the community, and Stride's commitment to STARS is a perfect example of that community support in action." STARS is a Canadian non-profit helicopter air ambulance organization funded by individual donors, service groups, corporate donors and government contributions.
