The Canada 150 Centennial Revitalization Project in MacGregor celebrated Canada 150 yesterday with a grand re-opening that showcased all its new improvements at Centennial Park.

"The park was originally made 50 years ago for Canada's 100th birthday," says president Sadie Rushton. "So, we were cleaning it up and prepping it for another 50 years of good times."

She says they added a new sandbox, disc swing, climbing boulder, and they re-gravelled walking trails and cleaned up overgrown branches and grass. Rushton adds future efforts include a new maple tree, a slide on the climbing hill that also has tunnels beneath, bat-houses, and new benches and picnic tables. The effort's been ongoing for two years and over $40,000 dollars was raised for the project.
