The town of Manitou is hoping to win your vote in the TSN/Kraft Celebration Tour. The community is competing against Hamiota for the right to host Sportscentre and receive $25,000 for a community project.

Community Services Manager Penny Schoonbaert says anyone in the community is working very hard to ensure they come out on top. "There really excited. Really, really excited & they are bound and determined to do this." said Schoonbaert. "People are going to be voting all night long, all day long and we are hoping for the best."

Voting began online at 11:00 am today and will continue on until 11:00 am Wednesday the 18th. Schoonbaert says they have set up a large number of computers across the community to ensure everyone has a chance to vote.

Schoonbaert says if they win, they'll use the money for upgrades to the arena. "It isn't just about an arena. It's about taking an arena and making it more accessible to everybody."  said Schoonbaert   "Last year was the first part of the project & it's making it more of a community centre for those off seasons when they are not playing hockey. We don't have a hall to have dances in. We don't have a hall big enough to have big dinners in & the arena will be serving that purpose."
