Dr. Lisa Graham N.D. presented at the Portage Rotary Club luncheon today and shared her ongoing work with First Nations children. She says she's been offering help to the Fort Peck First Nation in Montana.

"We talked a lot about First Nations people and just a vision I kind of received about soccer and building-in, our purpose and passion, as well as some possible solutions," Graham explains.

She notes her efforts have made a difference. Five middle school age suicides took place back in 2010 in a school of over 300 students, and since they've initiated the Love Has No Color program 27 months ago there have been no reported cases. Graham adds her program focuses on one First Nation at the time being so they can learn what works and then spread it out among others in the future, adding their efforts focus on health rather than the disease.

She says efforts to honour and love people for who they are is what brings out the best in the children, noting it involves a more spiritual aspect that's often missing from assistance efforts.

Graham extends her thanks to the community of Portage la Prairie for welcoming her and her efforts, and for its love.
