A long time resident of Elm Creek will be honoured on Saturday by his community. Spokesperson Francis Poulsen says they'll be presenting a street sign to commemorate Fraser Orr and his service to Elm Creek and to Canada. Poulsen notes the "Orr Avenue" sign will feature a half circle with six soldiers to honour the hometown veteran, adding the municipality will be putting up two such signs on that street. He says Orr is now ninety-eight years old and lives in the Manor in Elm Creek, so they made a private presentation to him earlier. Poulsen notes this Saturday they'll formally present the sign in a ceremony which will take place at 1 p.m. at the Elm Creek fairgrounds.
