Central region artists have a better idea of what's available from the Manitoba Arts Council.
A grant writing workshop was held yesterday at the Portage Arts Centre.
One of those attending was Morden-area artist Marcel DuBreuil. He's never received a grant, but feels he understands the process better.
He thinks the information is especially important for young artists, and might be the difference between pursuing what they love or moving to something else.
DuBreuil is also pleased rural artists were the focus of the workshop.
Meanwhile, Manitoba Arts Council Program Consultant Kristen Pauch-Nolin believes without rural artists' input, the artistic community is missing something.
