Did you know skunk control was the number one reason people called in to City Hall, the Operations Department and By-Law Enforcement?

That's due to the city changing their complaint and concern tracking system to Cityworks, which allowed for many different categories.

"It is a great option. It gives us an effective tracking system for all the calls that come in to Cityworks," says City Councillor Ryan Espey. "It allows us to make sure that everything we get a call on is handled appropriately and in a timely fashion."

He says they changed the system back in mid-2017, so this is the first time they've been able to release a report with a full year of data.

"1615 calls received and logged in 2018," says Espey. "There is everything on here from potholes to skunks, to downed trees. Basically anything you'd call the Cityworks department for is tracked in this system."

Skunk control received 166 calls, Shelter bookings in Island Park had 141, water turn on/off had 116, and garbage not being picked up had 114.
