The latest report from the Portage la Prairie Planning District shows November was a successful month when it comes to permits.

Office manager Lynn Anderson says 2021 has been a very strong year.

"We've had a great month. We've had a total of 39 permits this month for a total of $22 million," says Anderson. "Year-to-date, so far, and we still have one more month, don't forget that, we have 357 permits for a total of $71,974,000."

Breaking down the numbers, Anderson says the bulk of the $22 million comes from residential buildings, including the big multi-family units mentioned multiple times already this year.

"We have had nine permits that were given out for 18th Street and Park Drive, which is over by Walmart for a total of $17 million," says Anderson. "We've had five permits that have come in for single-family homes at a value of $2.3 million, and they're all over the city."

Other notable numbers include a new farm building permit worth $513,000, three new commercial permits worth $989,000, and four ready-to-move homes worth $462,000. You can see the full report below.
