A familiar face will be serving as the executive director of the Fort la Reine Museum.

Emma Ens-MacIver has been the interim curator of the museum covering for Madison Connolly while she was on maternity leave. She goes on to say that Madison has accepted a position at another business.

"Madison was asked to join the team over at Southport as the Recreation Manager and I know that was a tough decision for her, for sure. I know how much she really loves the museum."

When she was first offered the position she was a little hesitant on taking on such a large project but quickly accepted the position.

"I thought, you know, I already have a year kind of under my belt and I had already invested myself into some projects that I really wanted to see through and I had a vision of what I wanted already the next year to be. In the end, I thought let's just see how it goes."

The executive director mentions that she is thankful for the opportunity to continue working at the museum.

"It allows me to kind of make it mine in a sense. I feel I don't have to follow through on previous ideas I can actually, make changes go forward with my own vision as well, and the vision of the board, which is completely changed this year as well. Since we've had a complete turnover so it's, exciting for me I think it's a really great career opportunity for me."

She mentions that the Museum has lots of plans that we should be on the lookout for.

"We are aiming for May 20th for an opening day. But, make sure to stay on top of our social media, our Facebook or our website to see all the openings and our times. Since we are weather dependent at the museum it just depends on how the next couple of months treat us.
