The provincial government has released further information regarding the additional COVID-19 testing facility coming to Portage la Prairie.

Per a release distributed Thursday afternoon, the Province says a drive-thru location, which will be housed at the MPI building at 2007 Saskatchewan Avenue West, will opening Monday and operate Monday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-8 p.m., while having the capacity for 120 tests a day.

Additional drive-thru and drive-up sites will open in the coming days and weeks and further details about locations will be released as the sites prepare to open. Manitobans are reminded that only individuals experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should go for testing and are asked to seek testing as soon as possible.

Employers are asked to only send employees for testing if they have symptoms or if testing has been recommended by public health officials.
