As summer continues so do the barbecues. The event was hosted by Portage Co-op. Cleaning For A Reason was the cause they were raising money for.  Organizer Diana Pelley  talked about what the foundation is all about.

"It's a foundation that provides free house cleaning for cancer patients, specifically female cancer patients," says Pelley. "Generally women are the caregivers of the home and the family. If mom gets sick, who is going to take care of the rest of the house?"

Pelley says the group works to find maid services for the individuals going through treatment so that they don't have to worry about the little things compared to getting healthy.

"If the mom is sick and getting treatment and can't focus," says Pelley. "She looks around the house and it's dirty so she can't focus on getting herself well. We come in and professionally clean the home, that way she can relax and focus on getting better."

Pelley she has been involved with Cleaning For A Reason since 2014.
