The five-member "Biking For Breath" team passed through Portage over the weekend. They're on a cross-Canada trip raising money for the Lung Association.

Team member Cameron Cunningham feels a lot of satisfaction about what they're doing, in a couple of ways. They've met the challenges of a long bike trip, and they're making a difference for the Lung Association.

Teammate Christine Stables has enjoyed the opportunity to see Canada, and understand what it's about. Meeting people across the country has reinforced her belief that Canada is a friendly place.

Team member Alisha Mills says they've faced several challenges already. Besides the physical demands, they've learned about teamwork during the trip.

Klara Schwab notes they've been generally well-received wherever they've been. Speaking for the team, she's especially grateful to Mark and Barb Harrison of Portage for their hospitality.

While in the city, the team camped in the Harrisons' back yard. It was the result of a chance meeting at a coffee shop, when Harrison struck up a conversation and extended an invitiation.

The team is travelling to Newfoundland, hoping to raise $30,000.00.
