The Portage Blaze were in Winnipeg last night up against a team they'd never met up with before.  Heading in to the game Blaze Coach Bryan Mintenko was optimistic his team could pull out a win based on some of the Northstars performances in the past.  The Blaze managed to net 2 in the contest however the Northstar offense proved to be too strong as the Blaze were doubled up 4-2.  With the loss the Blaze have a record of 1 win, 2 ties and 3 losses.
