There is a Canada-wide warrant out for the arrest of a suspect after shots were fired Tuesday morning in Bloodvein. 

Bloodvein is approximately 300 kilometres north of Steinbach, however, the suspect is considered armed and dangerous and anyone who has information on his whereabouts is asked to notify police.

On Tuesday at 1:05 am, Bloodvein RCMP responded to a report of shots fired outside a residence on Bloodvein First Nation.

It was reported that a known male showed up outside a residence, fired shots, and fled. Police say the male suspect then went to a second residence and more shots were fired. According to police, no one was physically injured in either incident.

Officers immediately attended and made extensive patrols in the community but did not locate the suspect.

A number of RCMP resources have been deployed to the area including the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, and are actively searching for the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Byron Duck. He stands 5'9" tall, weighs 150 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. He is currently wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large.

Duck is considered armed and dangerous. RCMP say he should not be approached and that the police should be called if he is seen.
