In the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey Leage pre-season Saturday night, Eastman Selects were 3-2 winners over Central Plains Capitals in Beausejour.

Eastman opened the scoring at 4:31 of the first period, and held the 1-0 lead until the 4:41 point of the second, when the made it 2-0.

The Caps responded with two goals in 44 seconds, starting with Max Neill at 14:00, and Logan Calder at 14:44.

It was 2-2 as the teams returned to the ice for the third period, but the tie was broken at 14:27, when the Selects scored what proved to be the winning goal.

Riley Sviestrup faced 35 shots in the Caps' net.

The Caps return home for a game this afternoon at Stride Place, versus Pembina Valley. Puck drop is 3 o'clock.
