In the Manitoba U18 AAA Hockey League last night, Central Plains Capitals scored three goals in the second and third periods, en route to a 7-4 victory over Eastman Selects at the BDO Centre.

The teams were tied 1-all after the first period, with Ryan Botterill scoring for the Caps.

In the middle frame, Botterill got his second of the night, making it 2-1, but the Selects scored twice, for a 3-2 lead. Drake Sheppard and Carson Buydens replied for the Caps, and they took a 4-3 lead into the third period.

Brennan Cook and Aiden Corbett made it 6-3, before Eastman narrowed the gap to 6-4. Buydens got his second into an empty net to seal the win.

Ciaran McVicker got the win in goal for Central Plains, with 31 saves.

The Caps visit Yellowhead tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 in Shoal Lake.
