Last month the new causeway from Crescent Road to Island Park opened to traffic even though more work was needed to complete the project. That work has been moving along at a good pace thanks to the great weather we've been having. Construction crews have been on the job right up until sunset and the West Entrances to the roundabouts are almost completed.

The West Entrance on the Island Park side is not in use yet but is now connected to the causeway

The pedestrian path over the lake has now been paved and that makes it much easier for those on foot or bikes to cross over to the Island.

there should be a great view from here when everything is completed

With the causeway open to traffic and the pedestrian path now in use, construction crews have started to dismantle the temporary causeway.

water is again flowing freely under the causeway

Work also continues with the painting of lines, signage and lighting. As things progress and paths connect, it's getting much easier to navigate your way through.

it's much easier now for pedestrians to figure out where to go when on foot

When you get to Island Park you'll quickly notice City Crews have been working hard raking up all of the leaves.

And no matter what side of the bridge you are on, you'll always be able to enjoy the views along with the wildlife that enjoys the area as well.
