The Conservative Government is going forward with it's fitness credit plan.

Starting in 2007 parents with children under the age of 16 will be able to claim up to $500 of eligible expenses for each child enrolled in physical activity, including sports.

Portage-Lisgar MP Brian Pallister likes the plan, and thinks it will encourage activity.

Pallister explains there are obvious benefits to living a healthy lifestyle.

He adds sport has to compete with so many other things such as tv and videogames -- he hopes this will help to get kids involved.
