Today's fifth annual Meyers, Norris, Penny Chili Challenge was another success.

It raised $1186.00 for the Portage Family Abuse Prevention Centre. Organizer Hilda Schneider believes Portagers are becoming more aware of what the event is about.

Prevention Centre Executive Director Joyce Schroeder is grateful, adding it means a lot to have this kind of community support because domestic violence isn't something widely discussed. She says being out in the community makes it easier to make positive changes.

Austin Credit Union's chili took first prize. Senior Account Manager Brent Budz calls it a fun way to help a great cause. An image with the Chili Challenge winner is below.

Stevenson and Desrochers Law Office took second place. Craig Dunn Pontiac, Buick, GMC was third.

However, Portage Chrysler won a separate challenge against Craig Dunn, so Used Vehicle Manager Kelly Tomalin will drive a Chrysler for a week.
