The Canadian Mental Health Association Central Region needs a new executive director. Kyle Berg recently left the position due to personal reasons.

Board Chair Brent Froese says they're sorry to see him go, and notes whoever takes over will have to continue the momentum Berg brought to the position. He notes he was integral in creating a more education-based approach to mental health in the region, including the Thrive Learning Centre here in Portage.

Froese notes the new E.D. will also be a part of the new community HUB model, which sees community organizations coming together to identify individuals who may be at risk for various issues. Partnerships between the CMHA, the RCMP and the school division are examples of who would work together, sharing resources to prevent potential crisis.
