The R.M of Coldwell is continuing its lockdown.

The municipality declared the measures at the beginning of the pandemic.

Reeve Brian Sigfusson says the RM is conducting business differently.

“All council meetings and board meetings have been conducted by conference calls.”

During the meeting, the council discussed a burn ban for the municipality and had received funding from the province.

Sigfusson wants to send a message to the residents of Coldwell.

“We’d like to thank the community for abiding by the rules of social distancing and staying at home, and the people who come to visit, same thing.”

The Reeve acknowledges it takes some tough people to keep essential services going during this time.

“I’d like to thank the doctors, nurses, Manitoba Health Department, farmers, food stores, truckers and people that help us throughout COVID-19.”
