The number of new cases of COVID-19 in our province rose slightly from Monday to Tuesday. On Monday, our province reported 156 new cases of the virus, while Tuesday's daily count is 185.

Of those 185 new cases, just over half of them are in people who are not vaccinated (103), while 74 of them are in fully vaccinated individuals and eight in partially vaccinated.

New cases by heath region today include:

  • 74 in Southern Health
  • 66 in Winnipeg
  • 21 in Northern
  • 17 in Interlake-Eastern
  • seven in Prairie Mountain

There are four additional deaths in our province related to COVID-19, one of those is in Portage la Prairie.

Manitoba's five-day test positivity rate is six per cent.

Meanwhile, the province is reporting there are 138 people in hospital with COVID-19, which is down from Monday when there were 141.

There are 28 people in intensive care because of COVID-19, which is up two from Monday. Of those 28, there are 21 active cases. All but two people with active cases are not vaccinated, and the other two are fully vaccinated.

There have been 916 total cases of COVID-19 in schools since September 7th, with 305 of those being diagnosed in the last two weeks.
