It was another busy morning for camping enthusiasts in Manitoba.

The second phase of the province's reservation system opened Wednesday morning at seven o'clock. This phase includes campsite reservations at Birds Hill, Falcon Beach, Falcon Lakeshore and West Hawk Lake.

According to a provincial spokesperson, there were challenges with some of the servers early in the process. Those challenges were quickly resolved, though it did affect some user wait times. Despite these early challenges with the service, by 10 am, nearly 14,000 reservations had been made. The queue was removed at 9:44 am and users no longer needed to wait in line. Manitoba will be moving forward with a new system for 2023.

As of Wednesday at 11 am, there have been 14,432 reservations made today, an increase of 3,360 from last year.

The next phase of the reservation system will open on Friday, April 8, beginning at 7 am. At that time, reservations will be able to made at all western and northern region parks (Asessippi, Bakers Narrows, Clearwater Lake, Duck Mountain, Manipogo, Paint Lake, Rainbow Beach, Rivers, Spruce Woods, Turtle Mountain, William Lake and Wekusko Falls).
