Today's the final day of the Portage Kennel Club's annual dog show at the Portage Curling Rink.

It draws participants from across North America, including Carol Robson, and her dog, Ludwig. She's originally from Portage, and has been part of this since the 1970s.

"This is a very well-run show," she says, "The club members are really friendly, and they welcome exhibitors, they treat them well, so I come to this show every year."

Show Secretary Tammy Dunbar talks about the long-running event's reach.

"We have, between the confirmation and obedience, about 260 dogs," she says, "From across Canada, we've got exhibitors from Quebec, and all the western provinces, Ontario, some from the States, from Colorado, North Dakota, Minnesota."

Winnipeg dog breeder Lynne Mulder has good things to say about the show.

"I've supported this show for quite a few years," she says, "Because it's very well-run, it's a hard-working committee, and they put on a really great weekend. It's a nice show, it's fun to be here."

The show wraps up later today.
