Portage Terriers head into a week off in style.

In the MJHL, Portage Terriers made it two in a row against Dauphin Kings last night. Dauphin led 2-1 going into the final frame but Cody Pollon shut the door as Mike Audino, Carson Rowat and Jeremy Dawes scored to give Portage a 4-2 win. Audino had two goals in the contest, both on the power play and for the second straight game, the Dogs kept the league's leading scorer under his season average for points in a game. The Terriers have a week off up next but almost half the roster will be playing over the weekend in Waywayseecappo at the annual all-star game. 7 players will play for the Sher-Wood Division all-stars and 2 more in the prospects game with Blake Spiller and the rest of the coaching staff coaching the all-star team. Jeremy Dawes's goal was his 42nd of the season. He's just 8 away from the 50 goal milestone with 11 games left on the schedule.
Elsewhere, Winnipeg Saints beat Winkler 5-2. Selkirk bombed Beausejour 10-2. Swan Valley downed OCN 5-2.
The league's taking a break for the All-Star game tomorrow in Waywayseecapo.

Triple "A" Midget League action -- Parkland stopped Central Plains 7-3. Pembina Valley beat Interlake 8-2. Winnipeg Wild were 7-2 winners over Kenora. Brandon dropped Southwest 7-2.

At the Portage Ringette tournament, Portage defeated North Fort Garry 7-3 in the Petite Division. Portage also won in the Bunny category, 10-3 over LaSalle/Starbuck. Roblin Park got by Winakwa 8-6 in the Novice Division. MacDonald topped Portage 8-1, also in Novice play. Melrose beat Winakwa 5-1 in the Petite category. Portage doubled Warren 4-2 in Tween action. Play resumes at 9 this morning.

The round robin ends today at the Provincial Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Gimli. Defending champion Jennifer Jones can clinch first place in the Red Group with a win this morning over Maureen Bonar of Beausejour. Chelsea Carey of Morden is still in the hunt at 3-and-3, and will meet Kristi Jenion.

In the WHL, Brandon defeated Red Deer 2-1 in a shootout.

Manitoba Moose downed Syracuse 3-1 in the AHL.

The NHL is in its All-Star break. The game is tomorrow, with the skills competition tonight.

In the NBA, Toronto Raptors were 106-75 winners over Milwaukee.

In tennis, Maria Sharapova won the Australian Open women's title. she defeated Ana Ivanovic, for her third Grand Slam championship.
