A search warrant was executed this past Sunday (March 19) in Portage la Prairie under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The residence was located on 6th Street NE and police arrived at about 11:35 p.m.

Officers found and seized the following:

  • A loaded shotgun
  • Ammunition
  • Cocaine
  • Crack cocaine
  • Methamphetamine
  • Drug trafficking paraphernalia
  • Brass knuckles
  • Prescription pills
  • Credit cards and cheques in unknown names

Officers determined the loaded shotgun was stolen, and the barrel had been sawed off.

Four adults were arrested at the scene. Jordan Chartrand, 28, is from Winnipeg; a 35-year-old man; and two women, aged 42 and 29, from Long Plain First Nation. All are facing multiple charges.

Chartrand remains in custody while the others have been released to appear in court.

Police remind the public that people who produce and traffic illicit drugs destroy lives, homes, and communities. The RCMP says it remains fully committed to enforcing laws against illicit drugs to their fullest extent.

Investigation is still underway.
