Despite a memo circulating on social media that says otherwise, the Portage la Prairie School Division has not cancelled classes for the remainder of the school year.

The April Fools' Day stunt stated public health orders were the reason for the closures, and the pranksters even affixed the Portage la Prairie School Division letterhead to the correspondence. Superintendent Todd Cuddington has confirmed to Portage Online that the memo is indeed bogus.

With the amount of misinformation circulating, especially when it comes to facts surrounding public health orders and COVID-19, the Division wanted to debunk the post.
