Homestead Co-op has donated $10,200 to three local schools after a triumphant Fuel Good Day.

Carman Elementary, Oakville School and Midland Nursery School each received $3,400 from the day.

On September 20th, 10 cents from every litre of gasoline and diesel purchased was donated from Co-op Gas Bars in Austin, Carman, MacGregor, Oakville and Portage la Prairie to these schools.

Trent Schidlowsky, General Manager of Homestead Co-op says that his organization is proud to give back and get behind local initiatives.

"These three schools are all working on great projects that will enhance community life. Thank you to our members and customers for the support you’ve shown during Fuel Good Day. It’s amazing what we can accomplish when we all come together."

According to Co-op, groups apply to be a part of Fuel Good Day by completing an online application form available on their website, typically in May. Then a committee chooses the recipient(s) based on eligibility criteria from their community investment policies.
