Tuesday night the first Happy Rock Holiday Homes took place in Gladstone. The inaugural community event was organized by the Gladstone Elementary School Parent Advisory Council (PAC). Tracy Stewart is a PAC member and explains there was a desire from within the community to have a home's for the holidays like event in Gladstone. To kick off the evening, the school's choir performed Christmas carols in the gymnasium while guests were treated with sweet treats and hot chocolate. Stewart was pleased with the turnout, noting they sold nearly 80 tickets for the self-guided tours. During the tours, three homes were open to those who purchased tickets. Vendors were also set up in the towns old supermarket. Stewart explains the support for the first time event meant a lot to her and the other PAC members.

"It's Fantastic," says Stewart. "It's great to see so many people out supporting our school and bring in the Christmas cheer."

Stewart adds a cookbook was created by the school's staff and by students families to be sold to raise additional funds. All funds raised from the Happy Rock Holiday Homes and the sale of the cookbook have gone towards projects taken on by the PAC.

Allan Warkentin is the Principal of Gladstone Elementary and shares it's a great experience for the school and the community. Noting it fosters a great relationship between the two.
