It may be summer, but the living isn't easy for pets outside in heat like today.

 

Dr. Tammy Dunbar of the Portage Veterinary Clinic points to several methods of protecting your pets if they're outside during hot weather.



Dunbar urges you not to leave animals in a vehicle for any length of time in sultry weather.



Dunbar adds there are a couple of ways to check dogs for de-hydration, one of which is called the "tenting" test.
