Helen Rempel (nee Doerksen)

Helen was born December 11, 1958 to Dave and Anne H. Doerksen, she took her schooling in Carrot River, SK. Helen worked at various jobs, including tree planting, babysitting, and housecleaning. Helen and her sister Anne started singing at a very young age. They sang at many festivals over the years. Helen was a truly gifted singer with an angelic voice. Their son Nathan was born October 17, 1997, he was the joy of their life. Helen loved to talk to anyone that would listen. She sometimes thought she talked too much. There was never a dull moment. Helen developed a love for photography and had her pictures in many magazines. Helen had a great sense of humor, which she kept to the end. Helen had a great faith in God and studied the Bible daily.

Helen suffered through the terrible effects of ALS, a disease which robbed her of her ability of independence, but she fought hard and never gave up hope.
