Two new regulations have been instituted by Manitoba Public Insurance.

Most at risk vehicles that are stolen must have an immobilizer installed before it is allowed back on the road.

The second regulation is -- most at risk vehicles that are brought into the province must have an immobilizer installed before they will be registered.

Allen Watson of Watson Allen auto sales thinks it is a good regulation but is concerned, because no one in portage installs immobilizes.

MPI spokesperson Brian Smiley explains that MPI is covering the costs of the immobilizes so it will not cost used car dealers anything.
