Another year in the books for the Interlake Regional Health Authority.

Their annual general meeting was held last night, and CEO Kevin Beresford is happy with how 2006-2007 unfolded.

Chronic disease initiatives and community engagement through youth and adult surveys top the list of achievements he looks back on with pride.

For '07-'08, Beresford is looking at several goals, including capital projects, community health planning, plus staff recruitment and retention.

Beresford notes they're projecting an $852,000.00 deficit for 2007-2008, but points out it's a small percentage of their 100 million dollar budget. He adds they've trimmed the shortfall from 1.2 million already, and doesn't anticipate any significant program reductions.
