The Portage Islanders will take to the ice tonight in the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League. They are heading south to take on the Morden Redskins. The last time these two teams met, the Islanders managed to pick up a 4-3 victory.

The Islanders are riding a four game win streak to start the season as they haven't lost yet. Offence has not been a problem for Portage as they have managed 24 goals in four games led by leading scorer Derrick Brooks.

General Manager/Player Jeremy Brooks says one of the keys to their great start has been maintaining control of the flow of the game.

"We're definitely controlling the pace of the play more," says Brooks. "In previous years, we've had tendencies to play back and play down towards teams. We really want to focus on taking it to teams this year and giving it everything we have."

Puck drop is set for 8:00 pm.
