Home ice advantage hasn't been a thing in the semi-final series between the Portage Islanders and the Notre Dame Hawks.

For the fourth straight game, the away team took the win, as the Islanders doubled up the Hawks 4-2 Monday night to tie up the South Eastern Manitoba Hockey League semi-final series 2-2.

Brett Brooks opened the scoring early in the first period to give Portage the lead, but the Hawks would tie it up, and then take the lead with the only goal in the second period. The Islanders stormed back in the third scoring three unanswered goals (Jonah Wasylak, Wyatt Lavallee, Tanner Waldvogel) to take the game. Ryan Person stopped 19 shots in the win.

The Islanders hope to kill the home ice curse Wednesday night as they welcome the Hawks to Portage. Puck drop is set for 8 p.m.

The winner of this best-of-seven faces the Warren Mercs for the SEMHL championship.
