Jackson Jeffcoat recorded two sacks and four defensive tackles to help the Blue Bomber defence keep the B.C. Lions off the scoreboard for a final score of a whopping 45-0.

Jeffcoat now holds the league lead in both sacks with nine, and forced fumbles, with four to his name.

The win clinches the Western division for the Bombers, guaranteeing the Western Final will be played at IG Field on December 5th. It will be the first time since 1972 that the Western Final is played in the province’s capital.

Among the Blue and Gold, Willie Jefferson also played a role in the defensive masterclass, recording two tackles, as well as a pick-six. This, coupled with Zach Collaros throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions, the Bombers were able to keep the Lions out of the entire game.

The Bombers receiving corps had an excellent night, with Rasheed Bailey scoring a touchdown, as well as Kenny Lawler, who recorded two. Janarion Grant also returned a punt for a touchdown, and Brady Oliveira, who filled in for an injured Andrew Harris, punched in a short rushing touchdown as well, his first in the CFL.

The Bomber faithful will have another stress-free week when it comes to the kicking game as well. While Ali Mourtada didn’t attempt any field goals, he was perfect in conversion attempts.

When it looked like the Bombers were going to be able to escape injury-free, Jonathan Kongbo was knocked out on a Winnipeg punt in the fourth quarter. While he was able to stand under his own power, he did not return to the game.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will enjoy an eight-game win-streak as they approach their second, and final, bye week of the season. They’ll return to host the Montreal Alouettes on November 6.
