The Koko Platz Rec Club has received its biggest fundraising boost to date.

Portage Mutual Insurance donated $25,000 toward the rebuilding efforts on Friday. The rebuild committee says that as recognition for this generous investment, the main hall in the new recreation club will be named in honour of Portage Mutual Insurance.

They note that signage will appear once the building is complete and will remain for at least the following five years. In addition to their initial investment, Portage Mutual will provide ongoing support of $2,500 annually through the life of this agreement.

"We are grateful for all the support we've received over the past few months, and donations such as this makes our dream of a new four-season rink and building, closer to a reality," says Julene Toews Dewis, Koko Platz Rec Club Board Member. "We are incredibly thankful to Portage Mutual Insurance for their ongoing support.'

PortageOnline will be catching up with Wayne Wyborn, President and CEO of Portage Mutual Insurance, next week for comment on this massive commitment.
