KF Aerospace Defence Programs in Southport has decided to once again cancel its Land Owner Appreciation Day due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Manager of Flying Operations Frank Cannon says the decision to cancel the event for the second year in a row is a disappointing, but necessary decision to make.

"As you know, Land Owner Day is something we enjoy hosting, and we like to meet our neighbours to say thank you for their support," notes Cannon. "However, given the current situation with the pandemic, we felt that the time wasn't right for a large, indoor gathering."

In previous years, Land Owner Appreciation Day would have landowners come into Southport and do a tour of the sights. The event is invite-only and would explain how much their landowner support means to them and how important it is.

As the tours continue, those who've registered would then be taken up in a helicopter ride over their land and some of the surrounding areas. To cap off the day, there would be food and drinks, where guests can converse with students and pilots.

Cannon is optimistic that Land Owner Appreciation Day will be able to take place in 2022.
