Volleyball is a family affair for Carter Lehmann, who is taking his skills to Assiniboine Community College (ACC) next season. Lehmann's commitment to ACC comes on the heels of his senior season at MacGregor Collegiate Institute (MCI).

Lehmann shared how he got involved in volleyball a couple years ago.

"Legitimately playing, I started in about Grade 10. Before that I was just playing something called tripleball in elementary school, and from a young age, I watched my dad coach volleyball, so that kind of brought me to the game."

Lehmann says he's started working with the Cougars a little already in preparation to play next season.

"I've been going to a few of the practices and getting into the groove of what it's going to be like."

He points to both of his parents as inspirations for moving his career in volleyball forward.

"My dad has been coaching volleyball when he was a teacher for around 20 years. So, I feel like watching him coach and his intensity around the game helped me push myself to be a better player. And my mom, she was always there to back me up when I felt like I wasn't playing well enough or good enough, she always brought me out of that slump."

Lehmann now prepares for next season where he will join the Cougars to face off with clubs from Red River, the Canadian Mennonite University, and Providence University College and Theological Seminary among others.
