The new Head Coach for the Manitoba Moose is happy to be coming back to familiar territory.

Former Winnipeg Jet and Moose forward, Scott Arniel, officially took the reigns of the American Hockey League club yesterday; succeeding Alain Vigneault who departed to coach the Moose parent club, Vancouver Canucks.

Arniel says his coming back to Winnipeg carries with it an ere of acquaintance which he feels will be beneficial to the club. He notes that his already having worked with many members of the Manitoba and Vancouver front offices such as Mark Chipman, Steve Tambellini and Dave Nonis, is a huge plus because it eliminates any transition period spent getting to know personnel and that lends itself to a great working relationship.

Arniel served as an assistant coach for the Moose for two years, including the team's first season in the AHL in 2001-02.
