The Portage la Prairie Planning District is off to a good start for the second half of 2023, according to the report released this week.

33 permits were issued in July worth just over $19 million. The largest chunk of money comes from a single new institutional permit worth $16.2 million. This is connected with the new hospital being built in the city, covering the structural steel needed for the entire building, as well as the floors above the first floor.

Elsewhere, the next biggest project is a new double permit worth $1 million.

This puts the Planning District at 152 permits worth around $61.6 million for the year. Last year, at this time, the District had 152 permits worth just over $45 million.
