The provincial election's coming up on Tuesday, and candidates across Manitoba are on the hustings, looking for your vote.

Andrew Podolecki

Portage constituency NDP candidate Andrew Podolecki talks about what he's doing in the hours before the vote.

"I will be focusing on door knocking," he says. "And just pushing those last few votes out for the NDP, and just hitting those doors to urge people to get out and vote."

Podolecki tells us he's hearing concerns about health care.

"This has been the number one issue on peoples' minds," he says. "People have also been talking about the MDC, Portage General, and just over-all concern for the cuts and the changes that have been going on in our health care system, and just how things need to change."

Podolecki feels optimistic heading toward Tuesday.

"The campaign has been quite positive," he says, "People have been very nice, very receptive at the doorstep, and listening to the ideas. It's been an honour to run, to try and represent the people of Portage la Prairie."
