Joey Moffatt hit his first home run of the year, leading the Portage Padres to an 18-11 win over the Carberry Royals.

The Padres were down by six runs early on, but Moffatt says they never gave up.

"Obviously it's tough going down early in a game like this," says Moffatt. "Carberry's a good team. Our bats came alive, I think we probably averaged about fifteen runs per game here in the last five (games) so that was good. We came back."

Moffatt finished 2-for-4 with 5 RBIs.

Jared Roy was the winning pitcher for the Padres.

With the win, the Padres improve to 5-0 on the season.

They are back in action tomorrow night in Plumas to battle the Pirates.
