The Portage Terriers are losing more than their eight graduating players next season as forward Austin Peters has signed in the BCHL. The 19-year-old has committed to play for the Chilliwack Chiefs next season.

Last year, Peters was eighth in the MJHL in points with 62 in 53 games and was tied for third in points at the Centennial Cup tournament with eight. This came off of a rookie season where Peters had just 19 points in 44 games.

With the BCHL no longer under the Hockey Canada umbrella, the Chiefs are not required to send any compensation back to the Terriers for acquiring Peters.
