The Pink Ladies Cancer Support Group presented a cheque to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation this weekend. The over $55,000 donated this year was raised almost entirely from their "Ride For a Cure" snowmobile event in February, and committee member Tammy Hammersley says it feels great to be able to donate the money.

"It's amazing! I can't express exactly how we feel about giving this much money to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Breast cancer affects so many people and touches so many families in the area and everywhere, so we are very ecstatic to be giving $55,555.55 to Canadian Breast Cancer today."

Hammersley says the groups bi-annual event continues to grow.

"We have grown and grown every year. We've stayed around the same number of riders, but the banquet itself has grown and this year there was 283 people so it was phenomenal. The amount of money that came in that night just through the silent auction, live auction, Chinese auction was phenomenal."

Hammersley says their goal is to reach $60,000 in the future. To find out more about the Pink Ladies you can visit their facebook page here or to visit their website, click here.
