UPDATE: Tonight's Santa Clara Baseball League game has been postponed due to wet field conditions. The Portage Regional Recreation Authority announced Thursday afternoon that all ball diamonds at both Rotary Republic of Manitobah Park and Beaver Diamond will be closed.

A makeup game has been scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Portage Padres' impressive run has officially come to an end.

The Plumas Pirates knocked off the visiting Padres 9-3 Wednesday night in Plumas to even up the best-of-three Santa Clara Baseball League semi final at a game apiece while putting an end to the Portage club's lengthy winning streak.

After opening up the season with a tie against the Pirates, the Padres had rattled off 10 consecutive victories before last night's loss.

Dustin Donald got the start for the Padres and threw six innings while striking out four however a four-run third inning and a three-run fourth, combined with a strong defensive effort, allowed Plumas to force a third and deciding game tonight in Portage.

The two clubs will take to the field tonight at 7 p.m., with a spot in the championship on the line.

In the other league semi final, the third seeded Carberry Royals knocked off the second seed Neepawa Cubs in two straight games thanks to a 5-4 win last night and will play the winner of Portage and Plumas for a league title.
