The Tiger Hills Hockey League is gearing up for their postseason and the Carberry Plainsmen are hoping to overcome the odds.

Team manager Troy Graham also plays for the team and knows it'll be a tough task to take down the East Division's 1st-seeded Gladstone Lakers in the best-of-three round. The 8th-seeded Carberry Plainsmen finished the year 2-15, while the Lakers were 13-4.

Graham says in senior hockey, it comes down to which lineup shows up for each team. Regardless of which goaltender is in net, Graham says the team will play hard in front of them.

"Game in and game out, they get a ton of shots and they make a ton of saves," says Graham. "I know the scores don't always reflect that, but they are best players, there's no doubt about that. Connor Slipp and Joel Baron are the reason that the games aren't worse than they are most nights, or that we're even able to be in some games."

The Plainsmen have plenty of home grown talent on the team, and they've improved over last season. Graham says Carberry is well represented.

"Daylon Creasy, our defenceman, he's one of our better players. He plays power play all the time," says Graham. "A guy like Zane McConnell and Brady Laycock up front, they work hard and got a lot of points for us, and do all the small things right."

Game one goes down in Gladstone on February 15th. Game two is in Carberry, at the Carberry Plains Community Centre on February 17th. He invites everyone in town to come down and cheer on the team.

If necessary, game three is set for February 19th in Gladstone.
