Cleanup may take most of the day but traffic is moving once again around the area.

Private, city, and provincial snow-clearing ploughs have been hard at it for most of the morning already.

Just before 8 a.m., all of the closed highways in the area reopened although many are still reporting snow-covered and icy sections. The Trans-Canada Highway between Portage and Winnipeg remained open during the storm however many drivers reported that it was very icy for their commute early today.

The main roads in Portage have seen some cleaning up and crews will be getting to other streets the best they can as the day moves along.

The winter storm warning ended overnight and even though things look much better already this morning, many school divisions were proactive and canceled all classes last night or early today. For the Portage division, the city and Oakville schools are open for those who could attend however no buses are running today.
